Challenge
LCL Logistix was tasked to realize all aspects of the project of moving an oil mill splitter from Mumbai to Mombasa. The oil mill splitter consisted of a splitting tower which was 41m in length, a pre-cut column of 29.5m, a FA Distiller of 16.5m and a distillation column of 16.5 m.
This project was complex requiring on-the-ground skills and expertise. The extremely long 41m splitting tower was difficult to transport across busy Mumbai streets, and its length made loading it onto the ship impossible via conventional means.

Solution
We transported the 41m piece from Navi Mumbai to the Mumbai port placed on bolsters. Navigating through the dense Mumbai roads was a difficult job, but the experienced team at LCL Logistix managed it successfully.
The biggest problem was loading the 41m splitter on board the ship. The port Gantry, the crane used for loading cargo on ships, was not designed to maneuver such a long piece. The LCL team had the ship moved ahead from the berth to solve the problem caused by Gantry positioning.
Full Cargo was successfully loaded and delivered to the client in Mombasa to their complete satisfaction.

Advantage
The navigation of the 41m long Splitting Tower through Mumbai streets could only have been carried out by an experienced Indian logistics player. Moreover, when the loading of the Oil Splitter proved to be a problem, we moved beyond conventional means to adapt and think on our feet. By aligning the ship to the port in a unique way, we successfully and efficiently carried out the transportation of the Oil Mill and related machinery.
LCL Logistix has time and time again proven its ability to adapt and to learn with our environment. This ability helps us to fit our clients' needs perfectly.
