  • LCL Logistix is investing in infrastructure to drive Indian business growth.
  • The Container Freight Station, Logix Park, is near to the port and offers a variety of facilities to domestic and international businesses bringing sizeable advantages to the customer.

Mumbai, March 14th, 2008: A private Container Freight Station (CFS) - LCL Logix Park - has commenced operations near Port Pipavav in Gujarat. The CFS provides all storage and service facilities to businesses, including warehousing, container parking, storage of reefer cargo, hazardous cargo handling, container repairs and maintenance, packaging of cargo, labeling, and other logistics services under one roof.

The LCL Logix Park Facility is spread over 40 acres of land and offers 6,500 sq m of warehousing space in addition to the yard capacity of 5,000 TEUs. The yard is equipped with 25 reefer plug points, and the CFS also has an administrative building with 15,000 sq ft of office space available to facilitators. The huge facility is an ocular proof of LCL Logistix's provision for the logistics requirements of businesses and customer dedication.

There is an urgent need of modern infrastructure to cope with India's rapidly growing foreign trade and cargo transportation. Such modern clusters of facilities in regional market areas will eliminate the thousands of miles that the products and components have to travel due to lack of suitable infrastructures and CFSs. Taking a longer term view, the new multifunctional LCL Logix Park will continue servicing customers beyond currently projected time frames.

LCL's Logix Park will cut the cost of customer's inventories, bring more economy to delivery, while adding many advantages like reducing congestion at the seaport. The Logix Park has the power to offer rationalized costs and lead times to customers through logistics facilities.

LCL Logistix's chairman and managing director Unni Nair, who moves his organization "forward with foresight", commented:

"This is the first CFS constructed by us. Also, we are handling a CWC - owned CFS at Adalaj in Ahmedabad, besides running custom - bonded and general warehouses in locations like Mumbai, Haldia and Nagpur, under our banner Logix Park. We are planning on setting up five more state of the art CFSs which will become operational by 2010. We are building modern logistics infrastructure in India to drive business growth."
