The LCL Board of Directors comprises a team of business visionaries, self-grown entrepreneurs and hands-on professionals. They provide direction and drive the company's growth in business, values and people in a dynamic social, economic and business environment. The board consists of specialists in the field of logistics including active founding members and representatives of the investors. Each person enjoys impeccable reputation for integrity, expertise and personal conduct.

The company's board follows a policy of empowerment and delegation to the employees of the company while at the same time being responsible for all their actions.


Unnikrishnan Nair
Chairman

Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair leads LCL Logistix as its Chairman. He also holds directorship with other companies within the LCL. Under Mr. Nair's leadership and vision, LCL Logistix has grown from a humble beginning as a freight forwarding agency to a leading multinational logistics company. He had established LCL Agencies in association with a leading freight forwarding company from Canada in 1997. Today, LCL Logistix has 33 branches within India and fully owned international subsidiaries.

A visionary leader, a master executioner and a warm people person, Mr. Nair foresaw the potential in logistics industry and had the determination to realize it. These very qualities gave birth to LCL Agencies and then transformed it into LCL Logistix within such a short span of time. Today, Mr. Nair plays a key role in decision making and strategizing the future course of the Company. He oversees important implementations and key functions such as personnel, corporate planning and financial and commercial management.

Mr. Nair has over 30 years of experience in the logistics industry. He established an independent customs brokerage company in 1983, which still continues to be a leader in the industry.

Mr. Nair has a university degree in Economics and is qualified as a customs broker.


Arup Chatterjee
Managing Director

Arup Chatterjee is the Managing Director at LCL Logistix. In this role, he carries the overall responsibilities for corporate planning, strategy and operations. Mr. Chatterjee's direct responsibilities include planning and directing the Company's activities to achieve agreed targets for financial performance, quality, culture and legislative adherence. Mr. Chatterjee has 29 years of experience in shipping and logistics industry. He started his own freight forwarding business in 2001, under the name of Cargo Management Services Pvt. Ltd. in Kolkata. In August 2006, Cargo Management Services integrated its successful business with LCL Logistix . Mr. Chatterjee was also the Managing Director at Sentrans Maritime Pvt. Ltd. He started his career with India Steamship and Patvolk.

Mr. Chatterjee's entrepreneurial vision and high emphasis on innovation and performance have enabled LCL Logistix expand its service offerings and enhance its reputation.

Mr. Chatterjee has graduated from the University of Calcutta, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant.


P. J. Prakash Kumar
Joint Managing Director

P. J. Prakash Kumar is the Joint Managing Director, Southern Region at LCL Logistix. He is responsible for the Company's operations and management in the Southern Region of India. His aim is to ensure that LCL Logistix becomes a recognized and successful name in the region. He manages all aspects of operations, customer relations and sales, new ventures and business development in the Southern Region. Known for his participative style of management and keen business acumen, Mr. Prakash Kumar plays a critical role realizing LCL's growth vision for the region.

Prior to this, Mr. Prakash Kumar ran his own freight forwarding business, which he had started in 1995; this business merged with LCL Logistix in August 2006. He has extensive experience in the shipping and logistics industry, and has held senior sales position in major carriers such as APL, MOL and CMB.

Mr. Prakash Kumar holds a Bachelors Degree from University of Kerala.


Shagun Gogia
Director

Shagun Gogia offers the board of LCL Logistix strategic insights from our private equity investors, Tuscan Ventures, which she co-founded in 2007. She is the Founder and Director
at Tuscan Ventures.

Prior to this, Ms. Gogia held the position of Vice-President at ICICI Ventures, India's largest private equity fund. She has gained several years of experience in private equity placements in India, closing five deals with total equity investment of approximately US$100 million.

Prior to ICICI Ventures, Ms. Gogia spent three years in the corporate finance team at Rabo India Finance. While at Rabo, she worked on mergers and acquisitions and private equity placements across various industries including IT, BPO and biotechnology.

Ms. Gogia is Cum Laude Double Major in Economics and Biology, Tufts University and holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.


S. Venkiteswaran
Independent Director

Mr. Venkiteswaran is one of the most senior lawyers in the country and he is internationally acclaimed for his expertise in Maritime and Aviation law. As an eminent lawyer, Mr. Venkiteswaran is highly respected and holds a prominent position within the legal fraternity and social circle in India and abroad.

Mr S. Venkiteswaran was enrolled to practice in the Bombay High Court in 1962 and, after a few years in the trial courts (both criminal and commercial), he specialised exclusively in maritime and aviation related commercial disputes. 

He has also been associated with several international shipping litigations and arbitrations and has also appeared as an expert witness on Indian law in Arbitration and Court proceedings overseas.  He has also presented papers at various seminars in India and abroad.

He has been a member of the Perspective Planning Group for Ports at the Turn of the Century, constituted by the Planning Commission of India.  He was also a member of the Committee constituted for updating the laws relating to Admiralty. 

He is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pandi Correspondents Pvt. Ltd., who are the Indian Correspondents for UK, Britannia, London, TT, ITIC, SKULD and South of England P&I Clubs.  He also sits on the Boards of Directors of:-

  • Dolphin Offshore Enterprises (India) Ltd. - (Vice Chairman);
  • Dolphin Offshore Shipping Ltd. - (Chairman);
  • Mundra Port & Special Economic Zone Ltd.;
  • Indian Register of Shipping;
  • National Securities Clearing Corporation Ltd.;
  • Pipavav Shipyard Limited;
  • The Clearing Corporation of India Ltd.;
  • Mahagujarat Chamunda Cements Company Pvt. Ltd.

He is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Bombay Tamil Sangham; Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha; and the President of the Bombay Keraleeya Samaj.
